Level Three Web Standards

Websites which include course specific information such as curriculum, syllabi, faculty (including adjunct faculty and graduate teaching assistants) bios and CVs, UA sponsored conferences symposia and exhibition websites.

Requirements for All Web Pages:

  • UA Banner
    All pages much include a UA banner. See UA Banner page for implementation timeline and exceptions.
  • Page Title
    On the homepage, provide title tag that includes “The University of Arizona”; on all subsequent pages, provide an appropriate title tag.
  • Contact Information
    Provide a way for users to contact your homepage.
  • Make a good faith effort to meet UA Web Accessibility standards.
  • Make a good faith effort to be functional in all 4.x & 5.x and text-only browsers. Users must be able to navigate the website, view information, and print web pages regardless of the type of browser used with the exception of web-based applications.
  • Have a link to the UA Privacy Statement if the web page collects personal information.
  • Provide up-to-date and well maintained information; and
  • Abide by Policies & Procedures including Code of Conduct, Copyright, Advertising, and the Approved Use of University Computing and Communication Equipment policy.

Recommendations:

  • Provide a text titled "The University of Arizona" hyperlinked to www.arizona.edu
  • Contact Information
    Provide a way for users to contact your department on every web page withing your site.
  • Use UA Red & Blue colors;
  • Web pages validate using W3c Markup and CSS validation tools
  • Provide a copyright statement: All contents copyright © 2007. Arizona Board of Regents.
